Every Page My Dad Bent, And What Each One Is For

A lot of you asked which pages. Here's every one, and when we use it with Owen.

After I posted about Sunday dinner, I got a lot of messages. Almost all of them asked two things. Is that Bible legit? And which pages did your dad bend?

So here's both. Everything my dad showed me on that porch, and how we actually use it now with Owen.

Get a pen. You'll want to bend these too.

The contents page of The Faith Made Ethiopian Bible, 88 numbered books

First: Is It The Real One?

I thought it was one of those Facebook things too. Here's what I checked before I trusted a word of it:

  1. Jude 14. Open any Bible to Jude 14. It names "Enoch also, the seventh from Adam," and quotes him: "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints." Then open Enoch 1:9 in this one: "And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones." Same line.
  2. The contents page. 88 books, numbered. Genesis through Revelation, plus the ones most Bibles don't have.
  3. Enoch, Jubilees and Tobit. Every page below comes from one of those three. Whatever Ethiopian Bible you buy, check the contents page for all three.
Heavy chains vanishing into shadow

1. When He's Scared Of A VideoEnoch 10:10 · Enoch 14:4

This is the first page Dad bent, and the one Owen uses most. Enoch 10 is what the fallen angels asked God for their sons:

"they hope to live an eternal life"

Enoch 14 is God's answer:

"your petition will not be granted unto you throughout all the days of eternity"

Now when a video scares him, Owen doesn't carry it all day. He brings me the book open to Enoch 14 and puts his finger on the line. "What did God say?" "No."

2. The Bus-Stop PrayerTobit 5:21

In Tobit, a father sends his son out the door on a long trip. His wife starts crying, and he tells her:

"For a good angel will go with him. His journey will be prospered, and he will return safe and sound."

Dad prays it every morning, about the time the school buses go by. Now I do too, at the window while Owen gets on.

Tobit isn't in most Bibles. It's in this one.

A face lit by a screen late at night

3. For What's In His HeadJubilees 12:20

This is Abraham praying, the night before God called him out of his father's house:

"Deliver me from evil spirits who rule over human thoughts, preventing them from leading me astray from You, my God, and establish me and my descendants forever"

The tablet doesn't come for his body. It comes for his thoughts.

This is the one I pray when Owen's been quiet all afternoon and I don't know what he's been watching.

A lone figure before an immense horizon of light

4. Over The Whole HouseEnoch 100:5

"And over all the righteous and holy He will appoint guardians from amongst the holy angels To guard them as the apple of an eye"

The apple of your eye is the part you protect before you even think about it. You blink before you know anything's coming.

Dad reads this one over his house at night, room by room. I've started doing it in ours.

A woman praying at her window at night

5. BedtimeJubilees 19:28

Abraham, blessing his grandson:

"Mastema's spirits will never govern you or your offspring to turn you from Yahweh, who remains your God forever henceforth."

(Mastema is the name Jubilees gives the leader of the evil spirits.)

You or your offspring. That's Owen, and Owen's kids, and theirs.

I read it over him every night now, with my hand on the page where his name is written.

6. For YouEnoch 81:6 · Jubilees 10:13

God gave Enoch one year left with his son:

"that thou mayst teach thy children and record (it) for them"

When the demons came for Noah's grandsons, Noah "recorded everything in a book… thus preventing evil spirits from harming Noah's descendants," and handed it to his son.

The elites are buying more years. Enoch had one, and he wrote it down. This page is the reason Dad writes names in the front.

How We Set It Up

It takes about 10 minutes. Here's exactly what we did:

  1. Write the names in the front. Oldest first. Grandma. Dad. Me. Owen. Leave room under his for the ones who aren't born yet.
  2. Bend the pages above, so anyone in the house can find them fast.
  3. Put it where the tablet used to sleep. Owen's tablet charges in the kitchen now. The book is on his nightstand.

The first time Owen brought me a scary video with the book already open to Enoch 14, I knew it was working.

"Count The Houses With A Kid In Them"

That's what Dad said when I asked how many to get. I counted three. My husband's mom. His sister, with the twins. And Dana, whose boy sits next to Owen on the bus.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a scam?

I wondered the same thing. Do the Jude 14 check at the top of this page: the line Jude quotes is in Enoch 1:9 in this edition. It's a real 88-book Bible from The Faith Made, an American publisher (it isn't affiliated with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church). Most orders ship from California or Pennsylvania and arrive in 1–3 business days. Questions go to support@thefaithmade.com.

Is Enoch okay to read to a 9-year-old?

Some of Enoch is intense. It describes the giants and what they did. I don't read Owen whole chapters. I read him the pages Dad bent: Enoch 14, Tobit 5:21 and Jubilees 19:28 at bedtime. You know your kid. Read it yourself in the app tonight and pick the pages.

Why the paperback, if the app has it too?

Because the problem was the screen. A paperback has no feed, no autoplay and no next video, and nobody can change it after it's printed. It's the one you write your family's names in. The app is for you, tonight, before the box comes.

Is it large print?

No. It's a 657-page paperback with two columns of regular-size print. If small print is hard for you, read it on your phone in the app or listen to the audio Bible.

Will it contradict my King James?

No. Genesis through Revelation are all here, and the extra books sit alongside them. The main difference you'll notice: the Old Testament uses the name Yahweh where the King James says LORD.

What happens after the free app weeks?

Every order includes 4 weeks of The Faith Made App free, with the eBook and the audio Bible. After that it's a paid subscription unless you cancel. The paperback is yours either way.

365-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If it isn't right for your family, return it in good condition within 365 days for a full refund (you cover return shipping). A copy with names written in it can't come back, so read the eBook first if you're unsure.
