And the four warnings, written for the last generation, that were left out of the Bible most Christians were handed.

Let me say the most important thing first. Nobody knows the day or the hour. Jesus said so in Matthew 24:36, and anybody who gives you a date is wrong.

But in the very next verse He told us what the days would look like. "As the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."

He didn't give us the day. He gave us the signs. And four of the clearest descriptions of those days are in books most Christians have never held.

Sign #1: A Book That Says It Was Written For This Generation

The Book of Enoch is the book Jude quotes word for word. "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints" (Jude 14) is Enoch chapter 1, verse 9.

And in its first chapter, Enoch says who it was written for.

"Not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come."Enoch 1:2

The verse before it calls it a blessing for the righteous "who will be living in the day of tribulation." A book the Bible quotes by name, telling you it was written for whoever is alive when these things begin.

So why haven't you read it? Because Enoch was left out of the Bible the Western church handed down. One church never took it out. The Ethiopian church has kept Enoch in its Bible for more than fifteen hundred years, and it's still there today.

Sign #2: Families Turning On Each Other

"And they shall strive one with another, the young with the old, and the old with the young, the poor with the rich."Jubilees 23:19

"All friends shall destroy one another."2 Esdras 5:9

If you only trust the 66 books, Jesus said it too: "Children shall rise up against their parents" (Mark 13:12).

Look at your own family. Cousins who make very different kinds of money and never talk about it. Relatives who vote differently and can't get through one holiday dinner without it coming up.

The nieces and nephews who will never say it out loud, but won't be at each other's weddings.

The young with the old. The poor with the rich. Written down thousands of years ago, and sitting at your holiday table. The family line your grandparents built, quietly coming apart one missed wedding at a time.

Both of those warnings come from books most Christians have never been handed. Jubilees was never in the Western Bible, and Second Esdras was taken out in 1826. The Ethiopian Bible has both.

Sign #3: Children Growing Up Old Before Their Time

"And the heads of the children shall be white with grey hair, and a child of three weeks shall appear old like a man of a hundred years."Jubilees 23:25

"And in the days of the sinners the years shall be shortened."Enoch 80:2

Think about the children in your life. Eight year olds who have already seen things on a phone that your grandparents never saw in eighty years. Twelve year olds who can't sleep because they're anxious. Teenagers who talk like they've already lived a hard life.

They're children, but they carry themselves like they're worn out. That's what "the heads of the children shall be white with grey hair" looks like.

And it isn't only the children. Ask anyone over fifty whether the years go by the way they used to. Enoch said that in the last days, the years themselves would feel shorter.

Jubilees wrote this more than two thousand years ago, and copies of it were found with the Dead Sea Scrolls. But you won't find it in the Bible most of us grew up with, because it was never put in. The Ethiopian Bible has kept Jubilees and Enoch the whole time.

Sign #4: The Truth Was Hidden, Exactly As Written

"The way of truth shall be hidden, and the land shall be barren of faith."2 Esdras 5:1

Here is the part that stops people cold.

Second Esdras was in the first King James Bible. And it wasn't alone. The 1611 King James had 80 books, not 66. Fourteen of them sat between the Old and New Testaments, under the heading "Apocrypha," for over two hundred years.

Twelve of those fourteen books are still in the Ethiopian Bible today. Esdras. Tobit. Judith. Wisdom. Sirach. Baruch. The rest of Esther. They were in the original King James, and Ethiopia never let go of them.

Then in 1826, a committee of powerful churchmen in London voted that the British and Foreign Bible Society would stop paying for any Bible that included them. The American Bible Society followed in 1828.

The book that warned the way of truth would be hidden was hidden. Nobody asked your grandmother. A few men in a room decided which books the rest of us would be handed.

And Enoch and Jubilees had been left out of the Western church's Bible for more than a thousand years before that.

They Didn't Disappear

In 1947, in the caves at Qumran above the Dead Sea, pieces of eleven different copies of Enoch and more than a dozen copies of Jubilees were found, the oldest of them copied by hand before Jesus was born.

And the Ethiopian church, which traces its faith to the official Philip baptized in Acts chapter 8, never took any of them out. It has kept 88 books for more than fifteen hundred years.

Men decided which books you'd be handed. God decided which ones would survive.

What The Days Of Noah Actually Were

Jesus pointed us to the days of Noah as if we'd know exactly what He meant. Genesis gives those days a handful of verses. Enoch gives them chapters.

And it records that God warned Noah before the rain, not after: "Go to Noah and tell him in my name 'Hide thyself!' and reveal to him the end that is approaching" (Enoch 10:2).

Everybody else "knew not until the flood came, and took them all away" (Matthew 24:39). They weren't monsters. They were busy.

Not Afraid. Awake.

In Matthew 25, ten virgins wait for the bridegroom. "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept." All ten. The wise ones slept too.

The only difference was what they had with them when the cry came at midnight. Five had oil. Five had to go and buy it, and while they were gone, the door was shut.
